These Fact Sheets and Videos are part of the Aged Care Justice Australia’s commitment to reduce the misuse of restrictive practices.
Restrictive practices in aged care settings include chemical, physical, mechanical, environmental restraint, and seclusion.
They are in response to The Aged Care Quality and Safety Commission in their latest Sector Performance Report that says that ‘unreasonable use of force’ and ‘inappropriate use of restrictive practices’ have not decreased over the past 18 months (since 2023).
