Could you live in a purpose-built, multi-storey building consisting of a mixture of 2 and 3 bedroom independent living units (ILU) in central Darwin without parking facilities?

Your responses will help COTA NT to refine its re-zoning application for Spillett House, 65 Smith Street, Darwin NT 0800.

The intent of this application is to enable the site to be developed into accommodation - purpose-built homes for older Territorians.

This style of seniors’ housing is intended for older people who are able to continue to live independently (with or without home care support) and age in place.
ILU is a type of housing and not an institutional-style aged care development.
The site is close to public bus transport services, supermarkets, medical clinics and pharmacies, cafes, and on-street taxi ranks.
An onsite bus and driver will be available for daytime use for group-based activities.
Parking provision will be considered for mobility scooters intended for outdoor / road usage.
