The Australian Institute for Intergenerational Practice’s (AIIP) award is given annually for Outstanding Intergenerational Innovation & Contribution.

Winners will receive a cash prize to be presented at the AIIP 4th Annual Conference on 21/22 Feb 2025 in the Surry Hills campus of Torrens University in Sydney.

This Award recognises the outstanding innovations and/or contributions of an intergenerational program to the field of intergenerational practice, aligned with the mission and purpose of the AIIP, that is to “support and advocate for evidence-based programs that foster mutually beneficial connections between generations”, and “advocate for intergenerational practice to cultivate more age-inclusive and cohesive communities, offering a powerful model for positive social impact.”

This is an intergenerational program that goes beyond bringing different age groups together.

Unlike informal interactions, they must follow a formal process involving planning, delivery and evaluation. They are collaboratively planned, use educational frameworks, and supervised by trained caregivers or educators.
