Art Against Ageing Competition

Art Against Ageism Competition

For the fourth year, the annual “AMCS Art Against Ageism” Competition invites you to capture the beauty, diverse capabilities & mindset of senior people and challenge the negative stereotypes of ageing.

Last updated: 17 August 2024

Art has been a powerful tool throughout history to convey messages about society.

Australian Multicultural Community Services (AMCS) believe there’s no better way to challenge negative stereotypes of ageing and promote inclusivity than through an art exhibition that celebrates the beauty and diverse capabilities of senior people.

In a world where ageism persists in various forms, they aim to create a culture that values and cherishes our elders, fostering an environment that rejects marginalisation and elder abuse.

Your entry will be judged on how well it meets the following criteria:

  • Does the piece clearly & articulately challenge negative stereotypes of ageing?

  • Does the piece portray positive ageing and celebrate life?

  • How well has the artist shown the beauty, diverse capabilities & mindset of senior people?

  • How well does the entry’s title and description capture the artwork’s message?

  • Bonus points for inclusivity and multiculturalism.
