Safe Steps - Family Violence Response Centre
Services include information and referral, crisis response, specialist family violence risk assessment, safety planning and access to supported crisis accommodation.
Safe Steps delivers programs at a state and national level. Our services include information and referral, crisis response, specialist family violence risk assessment, safety planning, and access to supported crisis accommodation. We also provide specialist counselling nationally through 1800RESPECT for those affected by domestic, family or sexual violence.
Our practice is trauma-informed and guided by evidence. We provide services to all victim-survivors and recognise that most of our work is dedicated to the needs of women and
children, which reflects the gendered nature of domestic and family violence.
We provide specialist support services for anyone in Victoria who is experiencing or afraid of family violence.
Our services include:
24/7 crisis phone line – You can contact our 24/7 phone line any time of the day or night and our family violence specialists will support you to find safety from domestic abuse.
Safety Planning – We can help you explore safety options, create a safety plan, and put in place safety measures to help reduce risk including access to aids, support or equipment.
Information for family and friends – If you are worried someone you know or care about is experiencing family violence, there are some simple things you can do to help and support them.
