Jean Hailes

Jean Hailes for Women's Health is a national not-for-profit organisation dedicated to improving women's health across Australia through every life stage.

Jean Hailes for Women's Health works in public health, research, clinical services, and policy. We produce practical and easy-to-understand information for women and for health professionals. We do this by translating research and medical evidence, delivered in many ways to suit our diverse audiences.

Our Medical Centres

We focus on careful assessment, education, support and management options that help women to be actively involved in making informed choices about their own health care. Preventive health care, promoting healthier lifestyles and providing women with options regarding their own health management is important to us.

Services including women's health checks and consultations on issues such as menopause polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS), endometriosis, gynaecological and hormone problems, pelvic pain, incontinence, depression, anxiety and sexual problems.

Appointments can be made with one of our specially trained women's health general practitioners (GPs), gynaecologists, endocrinologists (hormone specialist), psychologists, naturopath, physiotherapist or dietitian. We also run a specialist PCOS clinic service and conduct colposcopies (the close examination of a woman's cervix using a special microscope called a colposcope).

Public health & education

We believe that one of the most important roles for Jean Hailes is to turn complex evidence into knowledge and easy to understand information so that women have the confidence to make decisions relevant to their needs in partnership with their doctor.

Our Public Health & Education unit converts research, evidence, knowledge and clinical care into information and education resources and programs to meet the needs of diverse audiences, including women, health professionals, policy makers, other researchers and community groups
