The 7 National Principles to address coercive control: for Lawyers

This resource for family lawyers explains the National Principles to Address Coercive Control in Family and Domestic Violence, released by the Attorney-General’s Department (‘A-G’) in 2023.

They provide a guide to better understanding situations of coercive control because it can be insidious and difficult to identify.

In addition, the College of Law spoke to Kathryn Kearley, a family lawyer and adjunct lecturer at the College of Law, to explore the national principles, what makes coercive control so hard to identify, and how one can recognise situations of coercive control.
