'Rainbow Connections' - part of the Age Care Volunteer Visitors Scheme (ACVVS) - supports WIO volunteers to connect with older LGBTI people in nursing homes, or who receive aged care services in their own home, and are in some way isolated from support and community.
Many older LGBTI people are forced back into the closet when they enter care homes, or become disconnected from their communities as they become less mobile. We know staying connected is an important ingredient for positive mental health and wellbeing and that this new service will protect older LGBTI people.
