But the mental health clinician, who travels with his wife Tammy Lo from Braybrook to North Melbourne for the classes, doesn't leave his happiness to chance.
Mr Wong, who will only reveal with a smile that he's "more than 65", says he views the classes as dance therapy.
He says they help "ventilate" his mind of his problems, particularly in a job where he also takes on other people's worries.
"First of all, it's just a good exercise. And secondly, through the exercise you can throw away your burden, and a lot of mental health problems," he says.
Mr Wong is one of up to about 30 people to "weave" and "twinkle" their way into Melbourne City Council's free intermediate classes, which often book out in advance.
