Expectations documents set out how the Tasmanian NPM expects people deprived of their liberty to be treated, so that torture and ill-treatment does not occur.
They are drafted to reflect contemporary human rights obligations and best practice and are intended to apply to aged residential care, disability support,and related service settings where people are or may be deprived of their liberty.
Consultations close 31 March 2025.
