Free events to mark World Elder Abuse Awareness Day in the NT

COTA NT is working with Relationships Australia NT to raise awareness of elder abuse, provide information, and promote RA-NT’s support and services for families experiencing elder abuse.

World Elder Abuse Awareness Day (WEAAD) on 15 June is a day which unites people in opposition to the abuse and suffering inflicted on older people.

Sadly elder abuse is a worldwide problem, not one confined to any one state, territory, or country.

This year, COTA NT and RA-NT will be holding two WEAAD events on 12 and 13 June in Alice Springs and Darwin respectively.

These free community events will offer information about elder abuse and support services, but will also be about sharing stories and experiences of ageing together over morning tea.
