Financial roadshow tackles elder abuse

Sessions include updates on key advocacy and election-cycle issues

The Financial Advisers Association of Australia (FAAA) roadshows will take place across Australia, visiting metro and regional areas between 4 March and 3 April.

Key sessions include:

“Protecting the Vulnerable: tackling financial abuse with ethics and action” with Greg Cunningham CFP from Cunningham Financial Services, who is currently completing a PhD focused on guardianship roles for financial advisers to mitigate elder financial abuse.  In his session, Mr Cunningham will look at the role advisers can play as protectors and advocates of elderly clients

“Collaborative Advice” with Sophie Atkinson CFP of Visualise Wealth, who will talk about how to effectively collaborate with other professionals – including lawyers, accountants and therapists – to achieve better outcomes for clients, particularly those with complex needs.
