Western Sydney University, MARCS Institute for Brain, Behaviour and Development are currently in the process of inventing assistive technology for people with dementia. They have recognised that much of the technology out there is quite complicated and difficult to use and hope to build, alongside people with dementia and their carers, technology that will support living at home and independence.
They are at the stage of conducting interviews with people with dementia and their carers to understand what their needs and experiences are, and also testing preliminary technology to understand the most appropriate forms of delivering prompts. You will be paid for participation. Read more in the flyer here or contact Dr Celia Harris should you wish to discuss the research further before deciding whether or not to participate.
