'Bank of Mum and Dad' increasingly used for mortgage repayments, living expenses

A UBS survey of 1,000 Australian adults found roughly half had received money from, or given money to, family members in the past year.

The findings show a shift towards helping younger generation with living expenses, with the second most common use for cash from family being mortgage repayments.

Some experts warn the growing reliance on older generations could deepen wealth disparities in the long run.
