World Elder Abuse Awareness Day Online Forum
Aged Rights Advocacy Service (ARAS) is proud to present its 2nd online forum in its 16th year of observing World ElderAbuse Awareness Day (WEAAD).
The online forum will be held on Thursday, 17th June 2021, from 10.30am – 1.30pm and will be opened by the Honourable Stephen Wade MLC, Minister for Health and Wellbeing.
Our theme for WEAAD this year is ‘Elder Abuse Prevention– Let’s Talk’.

Avoid and treat common skin issues including skin cancer, ulcers, diabetes foot ulcers and more
Skin changes as we age and is less able to protect and heal itself. What we eat and drink is of great importance to help nourish and improve skin health.
For carers of someone over the age of 65 who has skin concerns (55+ if Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander background).
Topics will include: Understand skin health and common skin injuries. This session will also teach you techniques to help improve and maintain your skin health.

THE LGBTI AGEING & AGED CARE CONFERENCE 2021
The LGBTI Ageing and Aged Care Conference is the leading event in Australia for aged, health and human service providers to develop their knowledge, skills and practice to meet the needs of LGBTI consumers.
In 2021 those two premier conferences will be hosted online over 3 consecutive Fridays in April. Health in Difference will run in the mornings and our LGBTI Ageing and Aged Conference will run over the afternoons.
Elder Abuse - Your family and your home
In this webinar we speak with a senior solicitor and social worker from the Legal Aid NSW Elder Abuse Service about elder abuse that can occur in the family and home. It's not uncommon for older people to find themselves sharing their home with an adult child. To fit with the Seniors Festival 2021 theme, 'In our Nature', we will explore emerging legal themes and challenges, particularly when an older person is sharing their home with an adult child and how community and support workers can help.
