Speak Up Campaign

A community elder abuse campaign in New South Wales

The Speak Up advertising campaign was developed by the Elder Abuse Service, Legal Aid NSW for release across a part of regional NSW.

Elder abuse is a community problem. A new campaign in the Central Coast of NSW, by the Elder Abuse Service, Legal Aid NSW, aims to raise community awareness of this problem.

The key messages of the campaign are:

• Be aware of what elder abuse is;

• Be able to identify when an older person is being abused – whether it is your neighbour, your parent, your client or yourself;

• Speak to an older person that you suspect is being abused, and;

• Assist the older person to get help.
