Responding to elder abuse: A free education session for healthcare providers

This one-hour webinar will outline what elder abuse is,the different types of abuse, explain how to identify signs that abuse may be occurring, and detail where to go for help.

A laywer and advocate from Seniors Rights Victoria (SRV) will present case studies that detail the different and complex ways that elder abuse can present, and how services like SRV can intervene to support and protect older people, and prevent abuse from occurring in the future.

The session will also include a Q+A component and an opportunity for participants to discuss cases that they may have come across in their own work.

This event is held in support of Respect Victoria’s 16 Days of Activism against Gender-Based Violence 2025.

The 16 Days of Activism against Gender-Based Violence is a global campaign led annually by UN Women that takes place between 25 November (the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women) to 10 December (Human Rights Day).
